Lindsay Gardner

Michigan-Based Artist and Author | Winner of the Nautilus Book Award  | Author of Why We Cook: Women on Food, Identity

Lindsay Gardner is an artist, illustrator and author whose work has appeared in numerous cookbooks, editorial projects, and other food, farming and nature-inspired collaborations. She is the author and illustrator of Why We Cook: Women On Food, Identity, and Connection, winner of the Nautilus Book Award. Lindsay partners with Traverse City’s Farm Club and Loma Farm to create an annual illustrated calendar benefiting The Leelanau Conservancy, an organization that works to protect the landscapes, waterways, and agricultural heritage of the region. Her work has been featured in The New York Times, Wildsam Field Guides’ Northern Michigan, Uppercase, Architectural Digest, and Flow, among other publications. Lindsay lives in northern Michigan with her husband and two daughters.
