When and where will the Grand Tasting be held?
The 2026 Grand Tasting event will take place downtown Traverse City. Specific location, date, and time for 2026 TBD.
What is the rain policy for Traverse City Food & Wine events?
All events will occur rain or shine. We advise you to check the weather report prior to your event and bring rain attire if rain is in the forecast.
What does my Grand Tasting ticket include?
General Admission: Includes 15 beverage tastes and unlimited food tastings.
VIP Admission: Includes 20 beverage tastes and unlimited food tastings.
Additional beverage tastes can be purchased for $3 each.
Which vendors will be present at the Grand Tasting?
For a complete list of wineries and restaurants that will be on-site, visit the Grand Tasting page. There will be no food trucks.
Is re-entry to the Grand Tasting allowed?
No. For the safety and enjoyment of all attendees, re-entry is not permitted once you have exited the Grand Tasting event grounds.
Do the events have options for guests with dietary restrictions?
While many of our participating chefs and restaurants offer a variety of dishes, we cannot guarantee that all items are free from common allergens such as nuts, dairy, gluten, etc. Additionally, not all events will have vegetarian options available.
Can I reserve seats for the Chef Demonstrations at the Grand Tasting?
All chef demonstrations are first come, first serve seating. We recommend arriving early to secure your spot.
Is Traverse City Food & Wine environmentally friendly?
Yes! We are committed to sustainability. Much of the cutlery and plates used are compostable, and we encourage recycling and waste reduction throughout the event.
Is the Grand Tasting event ADA accessible?
The Grand Tasting grounds are ADA accessible, ensuring that all guests can enjoy the event comfortably.
How can I get to Traverse City?
Traverse City is served by the Cherry Capital Airport (TVC), which offers nonstop flights from several major cities. Once in town, the area is easily accessible by car and rental options are available at the airport.

Are tickets refundable?
Tickets for all Traverse City Food & Wine events are final; tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
Which charities does Traverse City Food & Wine support?
Proceeds will benefit the Great Lakes Culinary Institute.
Can I pay in cash at the Open Space events?
All events at the Open Space are cashless; only debit and credit cards will be accepted.
Are pets permitted?
Pets are not permitted in any Traverse City Food & Wine events. Service/working animals are not considered pets and are exempt from this policy.
Is smoking allowed?
No smoking, vaping, or electronic cigarette usage is allowed at any Traverse City Food & Wine events.
What items are prohibited at Traverse City Food & Wine events?
List of prohibited items
- Outside alcohol (beer, wine, spirits, etc.)
- Outside beverages (including soda, water, juice, energy drinks)
- Illegal substances or drug paraphernalia
- Outside food or snacks
- Backpacks, coolers, picnic baskets, and glass containers of any kind
- Weapons of any kind (including pocket knives and pepper spray).
- Drones or other aerial devices
- Professional camera equipment (e.g., tripods, detachable lenses) without prior approval
Traverse City Food & Wine reserves the right to deny entry or remove any person possessing prohibited items. This list is subject to change based on venue requirements and local regulations.
Does the event have security?
We are preparing in advance to ensure the safest possible environment for our guests! Local law enforcement has been involved throughout the planning process and will be present at the event. Private security officers will also be on-site, patrolling the grounds to help ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
