Bay Area Transit Authority (BATA)
Fixed Routes
BATA provides fixed route service for Traverse City with the City Loop and free Bayline route. The villages and towns in Grand Traverse and Leelanau Counties are serviced by the Village Loop. All of BATA's Bayline and Loop buses are equipped with bicycle racks, and most of these fixed-route buses accommodate up to three bikes.
BATA Link
Link is a ride-hailing service like UBER or Lyft, which delivers rides as they are requested. Rides can be requested either in real-time or up to one day in advance. T The BATA Link app can be downloaded from the Apple or Google Play app stores. You may schedule a ride up to a day in advance with the app, or call Dispatch at 231-941-2324. Link costs $6 each way, or *$3.00 for those eligible for reduced fare.
Airport Transportation
Village Loop Route 14 - Acme
BATA's Village Loop Route 14 - Acme provides direct transportation for between the Cherry Capital Airport, East Bay/West Bay hotels, Grand Traverse Resort, Acme, and downtown Traverse City. Check the schedule for departure times or go to www.batabustracker.com to track Route 14 as it travels to/from the airport.
Riders can arrive and depart at the Bayline stops on US 31 at Barlow St, Milliken/Fair, TC State Park/Pinestead Reef, Economy Inn/Grand Beach Hotel, and Four Mile Road - plus Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, Woodland Creek Park-n-Ride, and Hall St. Transfer Station in Downtown Traverse City.
For service to the hotel door, tell the driver at the airport which hotel you are staying at along its route or call 231-941-2324 to ask dispatch for a bus to deviate to your hotel and bring you to the airport.
Early Morning Airport Shuttle
Dedicated morning transportation from almost anywhere in Traverse City to the airport - including Downton TC, East Bay Beach District hotels, and many residential neighborhoods. This service is available Monday - Friday from 4:00 a.m. - 7:00 a.m.. Riders need to request a ride at least 48 hours in advance but can schedule up to two weeks in advance of their travel date. Rides must be scheduled in advance by calling BATA Scheduling at 231.941.2324 or through the BATA Link mobile app, which is available from the Apple and Google Play App Stores. The cost to ride is $12 per person and luggage can be safely stored in the seat with the passengers.
