Traverse City Art Galleries
The Traverse City area is rich with art galleries, and each one offers a selection of work from local, regional and national artists whose media include paintings, sculpture, glassware, photography, fabric and folk art. In addition, many local artists have visiting hours at their studios.
Many galleries and studios can be found in Traverse City itself, you'll also find fascinating art on sale in nearby towns like Leland, Cedar, Empire, Glen Arbor, Suttons Bay, Omena, Frankfort, and Northport.
Arts and craft fairs can also be found on the event calendar throughout the year. In June, there's the Old Town Arts and Craft Fair presented by Downtown Traverse City. And in July, the National Cherry Festival's Arts and Craft Fair features more than 100 artists from across the Midwest. Late fall and early winter bring a plethora of holiday-themed shopping events as well.
