Dynamic Variation:

Traverse City Snowshoeing

Even within the city limits, snowshoers find ample opportunities to enjoy themselves at the Grand Traverse County Natural Education Reserve, the Grand Traverse Commons Natural Area and Hickory Meadows.

On the scenic Old Mission Peninsula to the north, there's the Pelizzari Natural Area, the Pyatt Lake Preserve, and the Old Mission Lighthouse Park, while east of town there are plentiful trails at the Sand Lakes Quiet Area and the Grass River Natural Area.

And of course, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is renowned for its beautiful trails year round. The park’s 13 trails range from 1.5 miles to 14.7 miles in length, and plenty of options for snowshoeing.
