There are three things to keep in mind about the upcoming Traverse City Beer Week: One, several craft breweries in the Traverse City area are offering special deals all week long. Two, you can win a prize just by partaking in the celebration. And, three, you can already sign up for your mobile Traverse City Beer Week passport right now.

In addition to all that, Traverse City Beer Week gives you a ready-made excuse to connect with friends and family and responsibly enjoy the ingenuity and creativity of TC’s craft brew scene from Nov. 11-18.

So, how does Traverse City Beer Week work?

Let’s start with the passport. Go ahead and sign up right now. You’ll get your passport via email before the start of Traverse City Beer Week, and it will include all of the special deals and offers available from Nov. 11-18 from participating breweries.

What can you do with your passport?

Take a self-guided tour of the many breweries, cideries, and distilleries in the Traverse City area. When you visit a participating business during Traverse City Beer Week, use your mobile passport to check-in. Once you check in to at least five destinations, you’re eligible to claim this beautiful T-shirt as your prize! Just pop into the Traverse City Tourism Visitor Center at 101 W. Grandview Pkwy. to pick one up, while supplies last.

What else can you win?

When you book a stay at a Traverse City-area hotel during Traverse City Beer Week, you’ll be entered into a drawing for a beer-themed vacation package. That way you can come back to Traverse City to enjoy more of all the brews you’ll come to love during Beer Week!

What else is going on?

Traverse City Beer Week is when the legendary Flapjack & Flannel Festival takes place. This year’s party is scheduled for 1-6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at Jacob’s Farm. Just show up in your flannel and you’ll find several craft beverage vendors on-site to serve you a beer, wine, and cocktails to pair with pancakes. Many individual breweries also have special activities scheduled such as a 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, screening of the “Great Beer State” documentary at Right Brain Brewery.

Some participating breweries celebrate Traverse City Beer Week by unveiling a new or limited edition beer. For example, MiddleCoast Brewing Co. has been aging its oatmeal stout in bourbon barrels for the past several months and will make Beer Week the occasion to release The Barreled Boarman.
