Sand Lakes Quiet Area

A short drive, but a world away from Traverse City, is the Sand Lakes Quiet Area, five small lakes surrounded by rolling hills of oak and pine. This 2,800-acre tract is situated in the Pere Marquette State Forest and has maintained trails that form a six-mile loop.
