Thanks to the efforts of Friends the of Bullhead Lake and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Trust Fund, our township is able to offer the Bullhead Lake Natural Area. This Natural Area is a piece of undeveloped property where the natural environment of our area can be preserved and enjoyed. The Natural Area is a home to many frogs, fish, birds and other wildlife that depend on wetlands and the forest that would be greatly disturbed by development. There is no swimming or camping at Bullhead Lake but enjoying the beautiful scenery provided by Mother Nature is permitted. The entrance to the Natural Area is inconspicuously located on Edgewood Avenue off of North Long Lake Road. There is a sign marking the trailhead though, so keep your eyes peeled!
