Spring is in the air, and that means the return of one of Traverse City’s most beloved traditions. The Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market officially opens for the 2026 season this Saturday, May 2, in Lot B at the corner of Cass Street and Grandview Parkway in Downtown Traverse City.
The market will be held every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., rain or shine, offering fresh produce, locally made goods, baked treats, flowers, artisan products, and more.
Hosted by the Traverse City Downtown Development Authority, the market has long served as a vibrant gathering place where residents and visitors can connect directly with local farmers, makers, and small businesses while supporting the region’s agricultural community.
“The opening of the Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market is a sign that spring has truly arrived in Traverse City,” said Harry Burkholder, Executive Director of the Traverse City Downtown Development Authority. “The market is more than just a place to shop—it’s a community tradition that brings people together in the heart of downtown.”
The market proudly accepts a variety of food assistance programs to help make fresh, local food more accessible.
