Pi Day is when math enthusiasts and eaters come together to celebrate the best of desserts – pie! In Traverse City, it also means plenty of local options for sweet ways to raise a fork (or a pint!) on 3/14.
Here’s our guide to pie options this Pi Day:
The ABCs of Pie at Grand Traverse Pie Co.
The mothership of pie in Traverse City is undoubtedly Grand Traverse Pie Co. and on Pi Day, you can celebrate with a free slice of their Michigan ABC pie with any purchase. This flavor is filled with Northern Spy apples, Rubel blueberries, and Montmorency cherries sourced from our great state, and goes perfectly with a cup of coffee (or a whole other pie to share!)

For savory fans, head to S2S, or Sugar 2 Salt, in the Grand Traverse Commons. This brunch spot offers innovative yet comforting dishes and boasts plenty of local sourcing from our area’s food makers and farmers. On 3/14, head over for the quiche, which is always on the menu, or tries their special chicken pot pie!
Farm-Fresh Flavor at Between the Bays
There’s something about a farm stand pie that says comfort! The Warren family of Between the Bays makes preordered pies with fruit from their historic orchard on Old Mission Peninsula. Their homemade creations for Pi Day include vents in the shape of the mathematical symbol and are available for preorder with at least 48 hours of lead time on their Facebook page or by text at (231) 590-2363.
