Traverse City Golf Courses

There's a moment of quiet when you step into the first tee box, 18 holes of Pure Michigan golf stretch out before you, glimpses of aquamarine waters peeking through the trees beyond the dogleg ahead. You swing, strike and smile as the ball flies over an impossibly green fairway.

As soon as the snow melts--and until it falls again--golf is the game in northern Michigan. Long summer days, bay breezes, and meticulously tended grounds make for perfect conditions. Designer courses from legends like Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer are nestled between forests and lakes. Even the spring and fall bring their own beauty, with cherry blossoms and autumn color that take your breath away. Take a look at these seasonal packages and get ready to plan your golf getaway.

Grand Traverse Resort and Spa

Celebrated as one of the most difficult courses in the United States, The Bear was designed by Jack Nicklaus and features Scottish fairways, tiered greens, pot bunkers and deep grassy roughs. Gary Player's first signature course in the state, The Wolverine takes full advantage of the Resort's diverse environment with five sets of tees to allow the course to accommodate all golfers. More forgiving than The Bear, William Newcomb's Spruce Run is a joy to play, winding among rolling hills that surround the hotel and overlook Grand Traverse Bay.

Crystal Mountain

Carved into the side of a mountain, Mountain Ridge winds through hardwood pines and makes for a remarkable experience, truly embracing the essence of northern Michigan golf. Betsie Valley, the original course of Crystal Mountain, is a mix of links and parkland style with panoramic views thanks to renovations in 2021.

A-Ga-Ming Golf Resort

Named "Course of the Year" in 2023 for Michigan and the Midwest, the Sundance is a links-style gem with wide fairways and sculpted greens. Designed by PGA Champion Chick Harbert, the Torch overlooks famous Torch Lake and is a perennial northern Michigan favorite. Antrim Dells is a former host to the Michigan Amateur and is rated a prestigious 4 ½ stars by Golf Digest.
