Ice Skating and Hockey

Pack up the skates and head to one of the ice rinks around Traverse City. There are several options for leisure skaters as well as hockey players.

Near downtown, the closest rink location is F&M Park, and only a short drive away you can find the locals' favorite on 14th Street near the Michigan State Police Post and Thirlby Field. Outside of town in Benzie county you can find a rink at Crystal Mountain.

If being outside isn’t for you, there are indoor options as well. Traverse City has two indoor rinks: Howe Arena at the Grand Traverse Civic Center and Centre Ice Arena located on Chartwell Drive off of Hammond Road -- the same facility where the Detroit Red Wings hold their fall training camp! Skates are available for rent and all skill levels are welcome at both facilities.
