Protected, owned and managed by the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy.

Visitors to the Cosner & Bennett-Barnes Nature Preserve will enjoy a trail system through a mix of both intact and recovering natural communities that provide diverse habitat for numerous flora and fauna. A 0.4-mile loop traverses an old field, and a 0.8-mile loop crosses several bridges and boardwalks while passing through swamp, hardwood forest and Bennett Creek. The creek flows through the preserve and empties into the Jordan River shortly after crossing the eastern property boundary.

A parking area, preserve sign, informational kiosk and trailhead are located on the east side of Highway M-66 about 2.5 miles south of East Jordan.
