Sleigh Rides in Benzie County
It’s lovely weather for a sleigh ride together up north! If you’ve never taken a sleigh ride before, it’s everything you see in the movies—prancing horses, falling snowflakes, and cozy blankets. Across Benzie County, there are several ways to get your sleigh on, whether it’s a romantic ride for two or an adventure for the whole family.
Fantail Farm | Benzonia
Fantail Farm offers a scenic spot in Benzie County to explore the 120-acre farm. Rides need to be scheduled in advance. Rates and information are below.
Winter Sleigh Rides
All rides are approximately 45-55 minutes.
Two people: $70
Two people + one child four to seven years old: $75
Group of seven or more: $15 per person (limit 10 people per sleigh)
Larger groups can be accommodated. Please contact the farm for information, 231-930-7216 or fantailfarmllc@gmail.com.
* Rides include a hot cocoa kit that has cups with lids, a spoon and cocoa packets. Please bring your own blankets.
Crystal Mountain | Thompsonville
A horse-drawn surrey ride is a fan favorite at Crystal Mountain. What’s a surrey, you ask? It’s an old-fashioned carriage, and at Crystal Mountain, it means you have a roof over your head for the journey! Glide through the snow behind a team of Belgian horses, and cap off the evening with a complimentary hot cocoa and campfire. Surrey rides are approximately 20-25 minutes long. They are $10 per person and free for children under the age of 12 months. View the schedule and book your ride here.
For all of the above locations, please make reservations in advance and dress for the weather!
