Summer Star Party at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore

  • About

As evening approaches the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, visitors are provided with an extraordinary opportunity to examine the night sky with a spectacular and an unhindered view! See planets, galaxies, star clusters and other deep space objects. Park rangers and members of the Grand Travere Astronomical Society will be on hand to help you unravel some of the myseries of the night sky. Visitors are encouraged to bring a red filtered flashlight, binoculars, beach chairs, blankets and bug spray.

Tonight's event will be the final Star Party of the summer 2018 season. Don't miss an opportunity to see a 93% gibbous moon and the planets Mars and Saturn!

The event will be cancelled for inclement weather or if the stars are not visible due to cloud cover. Call 231-326-4700 for updates.
