October's Second Sunday Art Project will be led by guest artist Jamie John. Jamie John is a two-spirit Anishinaabe and Korean American artist living and working in Michigan. From early on, art became a navigation tool for them to find how they fit into the larger world despite colonialism, loss, and gender violence. Jamie’s work is often made up of multiple mediums to incorporate craft and reflect complex ideas of what Indigenous futures and freedom looks like as well as how the colonial present relates to everyday life.
