Roll Out the Barrels!

    The Workshop Brewing Co. is rolling out specialty barrels of beer -- just in time for Beer Week! Stop by during the week for complimentary samples of their four barrel-aged releases. These include:

    Friday Shaker (Kriek Style Ale)

    Aged for 1 year in American oak on local montmorency cherries. Fruity aroma, tart across the palate with a soft oak finish. 7.5% ABV 20 IBU

    Barrel Aged Spirit Level (Chestnut Brown)

    Aged ten months in a former Traverse City Whiskey Bourbon barrel. Strong and sweet Bourbon aroma, malty across the palate with a subtly whiskey burn in the finish. 6% ABV 20 IBU

    Barrel Full O' Monkeys (Aged Belgian Dubbel)

    A Belgian Dubbel aged for six months in bourbon barrels. A light sweetness imparted by dark Belgian candy sugar, with a subtle bourbon burn in the finish. 30 IBU 7% ABV

    Barrel Aged Reaper

    Slightly tart with flavors of ripe pear and peppery esters. Fruitiness and cinnamon spice collide in a balanced aroma underlined by a biscuity malt presence. Aged in American oak for 12 months. Saison translates from French to season, which this rustic ale has truly reaped the benefits of. Made with Friske orchards pears. 6.3% ABV 20 IBU
