About
Experience Statewide Log Cabin Day festivities at the Dougherty Mission House on Sunday, June 29th from 11 am to 4pm. The House was built by Rev. Peter Dougherty, Chief Agosa and the Odawa and Chippewa in 1842. Discover its connection to the Mission Point Lighthouse. Enjoy live music by Angus McDonald at 1pm. Travel back in time to where the fruit industry began on Old Mission Peninsula in the former inn..
The Old Mission Peninsula Historical Society will also open the Hesler Log Cabin and Mission Point Lighthouse for tours with activities and displays on the grounds.
Come explore the House, summer kitchen, carriage shed, icehouse, unique outhouse, demonstration garden and 15 acres of trails. View unusual, pure American chestnut trees. Admission is free at the home that gave Old Mission Peninsula its name at 18459 Mission Road, Old Mission.
