Lakeside Shakespeare began in 2003, when Chicagoan (and Benzie summer resident) Elizabeth Laidlaw brought a troupe of actors to Benzie County for a 3 night run of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Twenty two years later, we continue to gather an ensemble of professional Chicago actors every year to share the magic of professional theater in the park with the folks of Northern Michigan.
