We are thrilled to announce a unique summer student intensive in devised theater led by guest artists Hook & Eye Theater from Brooklyn, NY. In this week-long intensive from July 20-24, middle and high school-aged students will collaboratively build an original piece of theater, with guidance and instruction by professional New York artists.

Hook & Eye is an award-winning, innovative, ensemble-based company known for creating original performances from the ground up, using collaboration, movement, text, sound, and imagination rather than a traditional script. In these week-long theater intensives, students will be guided through the process of creating one of these original performances through collaboration with fellow students.

Devised theater invites students to become creators—building stories together through exploration and play—making this a rare and exciting creative opportunity not often available in our region.

The intensive will include two classes of 10 students each: one for rising 5th–8th graders and one for rising 9th–12th graders. Both groups' work will culminate in a public showing for family and friends. Space is limited, early registration is strongly encouraged.
