Glen Arbor Arts Center and LIFT Partner to Empower Local Youth Through Art
Glen Arbor, MI — In the spirit of the holiday season, the Glen Arbor Arts Center (GAAC) is thrilled to announce a special community initiative aimed at giving back and enriching the lives of young people in Leelanau County. Through a collaborative partnership with LIFT (Leelanau Investing For Teens), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting local youth, GAAC is offering art kits that can be donated to students in the LIFT program at Glen Lake Schools. These art kits provide an opportunity for young people to explore creativity, develop new skills, and experience the joy of artistic expression.
"Learning at the GAAC is fun and has many benefits," shared a LIFT student. "It creates a different environment, with instructors who teach various mediums, and it stretches one's artistic muscles." These words reflect the core mission of this collaboration: to provide meaningful and enriching experiences that empower young people and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for the arts. Audrey Sharp, Associate Director of LIFT stated, “The Glen Lake middle schoolers always ask, ‘when is the next time that LIFT is taking students to the GAAC for an art class.’”
The partnership between GAAC and LIFT is a valuable opportunity to support the community's youth by making art more accessible and encouraging students to explore new creative horizons. With the holidays approaching, this initiative offers a unique way for the community to give back, and the donated art kits will help spread the joy of the season while making a lasting impact on the lives of local teens.
