  • About

Traverse-area wines are fast becoming a hot topic among global wine critics and collectors, so now is the time for the wider world to get in the know. Its cool-climate, moderate and lakeside climate—along with soils rich from vast, ancient glacial deposits— is a perfect haven for wines of balance, elegance and ageability. From refined, acid-driven Rieslings to vibrant reds like Gamay, Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir and more, in this lively seminar and interactive tasting, JamesSuckling.com journalist, former Wine Enthusiast Editor-in-Chief and Traverse City native Susan Kostrzewa will talk through different expressions of top-rated wine varieties from the Old Mission Peninsula and Leelanau Peninsula AVA’s, with additional commentary from selected winemakers whose skills and insights are putting Michigan wines on the map . (Light food will be included.)
