Fifty years since first lighting up a pizza parlor’s backroom with brass and bravado, the Back Room Gang still serves up the high-energy jazz that got the party started. Born from the soulful mix of blues, ragtime, and brass band tradition in 1910s New Orleans, Dixieland jazz has bounced its way into hearts across Chicago, San Francisco, and New York—and now, it’s back in Traverse City.

This isn't music for sitting still. It’s for foot-tapping, finger-snapping, and maybe even forming a good old-fashioned conga line.
