Igor and the Red Elvises bring Siberian surf rock to the Annual Manitou Music Dune Climb Concert on Sunday, July 12th at 7:00 PM. This concert is free, but a Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore pass is required for entry into the Dune Climb.
Lead Elvis Igor Yuzov grew up in the former Soviet Union, where folk music was the norm and rock ’n roll was illegal. A rebellious streak, however, led him to seek out the forbidden music. In 1995, Yuzov dreamed that Elvis Presley came to him and told him to start playing rock ’n roll and the Red Elvises were born. Evolving over the years, Yuzov’s music contains humorous lyrics and grooves that forces his audience to dance.
Manitou Music is a project of the Glen Arbor Arts Center. For more information about Manitou Music, please click here or call (231) 334-6112.
