About
The 13th Annual Traverse City Challenge stands as Michigan’s premier stage for elite girls’ hockey—where top teams from every corner of the state battle for bragging rights, development, and unforgettable moments.
This year, we’re especially thrilled to welcome two outstanding teams from north of the border, adding a new international spark to the event. Our friends from Canada bring incredible skill, passion, and competitive fire—raising the level of play and enriching the experience for every athlete on the ice. More than just a tournament, the TC Challenge delivers a rare chance for programs that don’t often meet to face off, igniting new rivalries, building cross-border camaraderie, and strengthening the hockey community. With a focus on high-quality competition, outstanding sportsmanship, and true player development, the Challenge continues to set the standard for excellence.
This year’s showcase once again features fast-paced, hard-hitting matchups between teams from the Michigan Girls High School Hockey League (MGHSHL), the Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA), and now our Canadian guests, highlighting the tremendous depth of talent and passion powering girls’ hockey across North America.
is year’s 13th Annual Traverse City Challenge takes another major step forward with an exciting new addition to the showcase lineup: a special welcome to the outstanding programs of the Central Collegiate Women’s Hockey Association (CCWHA) Division!
We are proud to host Central Michigan University, Bowling Green State University, Lawrence Tech University, and Aquinas College—four collegiate programs known for their high-speed play, competitive intensity, and commitment to advancing women’s hockey across the region.
The CCWHA stands as one of the nation’s most respected collegiate women’s hockey conferences, consistently developing high-caliber athletes and providing a clear pathway for players looking to elevate their game beyond high school. Their involvement in this year’s event brings an exciting new dimension of skill and inspiration.
To our CCWHA guests—CMU, BGSU, LTU, and Aquinas—welcome to Traverse City!
