There are only a handful of days left to vote in MyNorth's Red Hot Best contest! The voting season is almost at peak, and still, most of the 101 categories are too close to tell.

Every year, MyNorth Media polls readers about their favorite Northern Michigan people, events, food and places. Thousands vote and still there are ties for the top three. The results are published in the June issue of Traverse, Northern Michigan’s Magazine in time to kick off summer and give folks a guide they can use all summer.

This year there’s a great deal of action in new categories, like pasties, with a battle raging between Traverse City restaurants and St. Ignace. Gluten-free restaurants could change places among the top 6. Wedding venues are tight. And soft-serve ice cream is tied at the top—we expect this one to see-saw back and forth several times before the March 15th deadline.

It’s still a toss-up for lunch venues; a group of customers could easily make any of the top 5 a winner. Builders and bartenders are all tied at the top. The place to take a scenic photo and place to stand up paddle board also have several ties. And if you know a romantic hotel, your single vote could make someone a winner, that’s how close that category is. Shopping district is surprisingly close, with some dark horses coming up fast.

If a group of folks got together to support their favorites, the outcome might shine Traverse Magazine limelight on them, just in time for the summer season. So If you have a Traverse City area favorite, vote here and then share, share, share. Your efforts might make your favorite TC selection(s) winners.
