The holiday season is right around the corner, and here in Traverse City, we’re getting ready to celebrate. Things will look a bit different this year, but there are plenty of fun and safe ways to enjoy these special moments with friends and family.
Here’s a peek at the calendar of events for November and December.
November 20 – 21 << RESCHEDULED TO DECEMBER 12
The season starts out with the Light Parade in downtown Traverse City. The downtown tree lighting and Santa’s arrival will be streamed live on Friday night, followed by a strolling light parade on Saturday from 5 – 9 p.m. Throughout downtown, you’ll find 12 nonprofits displaying their rendition of the popular holiday song “Twelve Days of Christmas.” You can vote for your favorite display for $1, with proceeds benefiting the Downtown Relief Fund and participating nonprofits.

November 27 – December 1
Head to downtown Traverse City for deals at your favorite boutiques, galleries, and shops during the Black Friday through Giving Tuesday long weekend.
December 4 – 6 << RESCHEDULED TO DECEMBER 11 - 13
There’s no such thing as too much shopping—window shopping, that is. See the beautiful displays in the windows of downtown TC during our Walking in a Window Wonderland event. Just be sure to bring your mask so you can pop into all the stores that catch your eye!
From 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Bellaire, you can shop, eat, and celebrate at the annual Light Up the Night.
December 11 is the last day of Fab Fall, Traverse City’s celebration of the fall season with great deals on hotels, restaurants, wineries, shops, and more.
Beulah’s beloved Christmas Magic parade encourages you to dress up your pets, kids, and yourselves to celebrate the holiday parade. There will be activities for the kiddos, beautiful window displays, and chances to shop the stores of the quaint Beulah downtown.
Also on December 12, Black Star Farms will be hosting a socially distant drive-through Visit with Santa plus brunch to go. Come celebrate the joy of the season!

Looking for an intimate (and tasty!) way to ring in the New Year? Head to Black Star Farms for their 7-course prix fixe wine dinner. The event is black tie optional, so enjoy dressing up for a lavish evening!
It’s a little early to predict what will happen for larger New Year’s Eve parties, but if you’re a fan of the CherryT Ball Drop that takes place in downtown TC, you can follow their website and Facebook page for updates!
