Best of all, $5 from each guest will be donated to a local charity. (Note: reservations are required!)
During spring break, explore the best of Traverse City’s wineries without the summer crowds. Head out on the Leelanau Peninsula Wine Trail on Saturday, March 23, for Sips, Chips, & Dips, a casual day of fun, snacks, and wine. With more than 20 participating wineries, you can explore all Leelanau has to offer.
Snow or shine, the ranger-led snowshoe hike at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is a treat. March 23 is the last hike of the year, so grab your winter gear to experience the beauty of the dunes in winter. (Note: reservations are required!) If you can’t make the hike, be sure to take a few hours to go explore with friends or family during the break.
Let your stress drift away at Spa Grand Traverse with a head-to-toe menu of relaxing treatments. For the month of March, be sure to snag the BOGO half off special on spa services over $110 for extra pampering. Or try the new HydraFacial treatment, which will leave your skin glowing for spring.
Enjoy a romantic afternoon with your special someone at Chateau Chantal’s Cooking Class. The March 23 class will focus on bed & breakfast favorites with Italian flair. (Think…pasta!) Chef Mark Dunham leads the four-hour class, which includes tastings of award-winning wines. Last but not least, eat your delicious creations. Yum!
Make it a museum day with the family. Little ones will love the hands-on experience at the Great Lakes Children’s Museum, where they’ll learn about everything from the water cycle to the power of gravity. Take older kids to the Dennos Museum, home to an impressive collection of Inuit art alongside rotating exhibits. And the whole family will learn something new at the Eyaawing Museum & Cultural Center, which features the history and culture of the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians.
Sign up the kiddos for the Grass River Natural Area Spring Camp during the week of spring break. Kids ages 7–12 will learn to tap maple trees, track animals, build campfires, and more among the beauty of the Grass River Natural Area. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 26–28, and pre-registration is required.

No matter how you spend your Traverse City staycation, you’ll have some pretty great options at your fingertips.
