Nothing can beat spending the week of the Fourth of July in Traverse City, thanks to the countless events that are approaching in and around the area. In fact, the real challenge will be trying to complete everything on your bucket list for America’s birthday. Let’s explore some of the Fourth of July happenings in Traverse City to celebrate our nation’s independence. Below is a list of 2022 events, while some of these may happen again in 2023, it's always best to check back for details.

The main attraction in Traverse City during early July is the National Cherry Festival. It spans from July 2nd to July 9th and is all about celebrating and promoting cherries, community involvement, and the Grand Traverse region. On the Fourth, you’ll be able to catch some rides at Arnold’s Amusements Midway, grab a refreshing drink at the Beer Tent, take your little ones to the Kid’s Club, and close out your holiday by watching the National Cherry Festival fireworks display over West Grand Traverse Bay after sunset.

Looking to get your boogie on? For live music enthusiasts, Collective Soul and TESLA will be playing at the Bayside Music Stage at 6 pm on July 4th. Tickets can be purchased online at cherryfestival.org.
