Watersports in Antrim County

This area is aptly named the Chain of Lakes for a reason! A series of 14 connected lakes and rivers wind for over 50 miles through the rolling farmlands of Antrim County. It is also designated as a State of Michigan Water Trail lead by Paddle Antrim, a local nonprofit promoting conservancy and paddle safety. The "Chain" includes several large bodies of water that are major paddling and boating destinations, especially the well-known Torch Lake, which is 19 miles long.

These waterways have been vacation destinations since the 19th century, so it's easy to see why a lake life culture abounds in this region. Head out for fishing, boating, paddling or relaxing on the sandbars.
