Each winter, Downtown Traverse City is transformed into a snowy scene worthy of Norman Rockwell himself. Tiny white lights are strung along the city’s tree-lined streets and store windows showcase holiday treasures begging to find themselves under the tree. You’ll be greeted by cheerful, rosy-cheeked bell-ringers who add to the festive nature of the season with their familiar red kettles, and you might be passed by a horse-drawn buggy taking a blanket-laden couple for a romantic ride past the shops and lights.
Stop into one of many downtown restaurants for a cozy meal by the fire, or pop into a brew pub or cider house to warm up. Or catch a movie at the historic State Theatre to round out your day of shopping.
