The Traverse City area is a haven for artists of all kinds. Sculptors, painters, and woodworkers display their works of art at many of the local museums. There are also several historical museums displaying artifacts from years gone by.

Located on the campus of Northwestern Michigan College, the Dennos Museum's permanent display of sculpture, prints and drawings by the Inuit artists of the Canadian arctic is one of the largest and most historically complete collections anywhere.
