Traverse City offers many opportunities to experience both local and world-class acts.

A favorite venue is the outdoor Open Space Park on the shores of beautiful Grand Traverse Bay in the downtown district, or head to the Boardman River and enjoy a picnic dinner and Shakespeare in the park in Traverse City's Old Town neighborhood throughout the summer months.

The Leelanau Sands Showroom in Peshawbestown welcomes big-name musical artists and also showcases up-and-coming local talent. The historic Lars Hocksted Auditorium at Central Grade School hosts the Traverse Symphony Orchestra, as well as perennial favorites like MSU's Accafellas.

Traverse City's Old Town Playhouse has been entertaining locals and visitors since 1960, and the Traverse City Film Festival at the restored State Theatre has gained international recognition.
